Camping at Watts Towers of Simon Rodia State Historic Park
Overview
Watts Towers of Simon Rodia State Historic Park is located in the Watts neighborhood of Los Angeles. It is not a conventional park for camping, as the park is mainly known for the incredible architectural structures known as the Watts Towers, created by Italian immigrant Simon Rodia. These towers are a collection of 17 interconnected structures, two of which are over 99 feet high, and are made from steel and covered with mortar and embedded with pieces of porcelain, tile, glass, seashells, and other found objects.
