Location and Overview

Jessie M. Honeyman Memorial State Park, also known simply as Honeyman State Park, is located in Lane County, Oregon, about three miles south of Florence on Highway 101. The park is the second largest in Oregon and is situated near the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, offering various landscapes including freshwater lakes, dunes, and forest.

Camping Facilities

Camping at Honeyman State Park includes more than 350 campsites:

  • More than 120 electrical sites with water

  • Six seasonal group tent camping areas

The facilities include flush toilets, hot showers, and an RV dump station. Many of the sites are well shaded. Additionally, some sites provide lake views or are nestled in the woodland.

  • Hiking: There are several trails in the park, leading through the woods and to the dunes.
  • Swimming & Boating: Cleawox Lake, located within the park, is perfect for swimming and fishing. A boat ramp allows for easy launching of non-motorized boats.
  • Sand Dunes: Exploring the dunes is a popular activity. Visitors can walk them, rent dune buggies nearby, or go sandboarding.
  • Picnicking: There are day-use areas with picnic facilities.

Important Regulations

Park rules and regulations are in place:

  • Fires may only be lit in designated fire rings.
  • Quiet hours are typically from 10 PM to 7 AM.
  • Alcohol is permitted only within individual campsites.
  • Pets must be on a leash not longer than 6 feet and attended at all times.
  • Dune access with motorized vehicles is restricted to designated areas outside of the park.
