Operating Seasons and Reservations
The campground typically operates from June through October, depending on the weather conditions. The road to Mineral King, Mineral King Road, is steep and winding, and it's important to check for road and facility status updates, as weather-related closures can occur.
Reservations are not used for Atwell Mill Campground. The campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Campsites and Facilities
Atwell Mill Campground features approximately 21 campsites. Each site generally includes:
- A picnic table
- A fire ring with a grill
- A food storage box (bear-proof)
Camping is limited to tents only due to the nature of the road; trailers and RVs are not recommended. There are vault toilets available, but there are no hookups or showers. Furthermore, water may not be available, so it's crucial to bring your own or be prepared to treat water from the nearby river.
