Important Camping Considerations

Bears and Wildlife: Food storage and handling are critical in bear country. Use bear boxes, and follow the park's regulations to keep wildlife and campers safe.

Weather: Conditions can vary dramatically with elevation, and even summer nights can be cool. Be prepared for changing weather.

Leave No Trace: Follow Leave No Trace principles to preserve the natural beauty for others. Pack out all trash, and do not disturb wildlife or vegetation.

Safety and Regulations

  • Campfires may be restricted during periods of high fire danger.
  • Always check current park alerts and conditions before your trip.
  • Pets are allowed in the campground but must be leashed and are not permitted on trails.

For the most accurate and current information, visit the official National Park Service website for Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks before planning your trip.
